The Being State

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

As the days wash over me

I am

As the crowds rampage and broil

I am

As turmoil seeks its piece

I am

Not a positive or a negative

Just a vessel

Built to receive and to give

Poured out and filled up by my focus.

I am just a being

shaped and reformed

for what I need to remain at rest.

Why is it so hard to remain at rest? God only wants us to exist. He doesn't actually need anything from us. He's God. It's our existence with him that enhances the state of everything. It brings all things closer to that hidden harmony that once was but is now lost. But even dissonant notes can make music that impacts the hearts of those who listen.

I don't need anything. I'm not striving. I just want to be...with that Spirit that renews.

It's really not hard to achieve. All it takes is surrendered intentions and silence.

I say God only wants us to exist because he is that state of being. He He told Moses, "I AM." And he meant it. He's the resonance in the ocean waves, the release of energy inside a clap of thunder, and the frequency of love between beating hearts. God is a state of being, and he invites us to join in that flow of everything.

We can access the Spirit of God by being still. He said, "Be still and know that I AM God." There's nothing more to understand, no set of rules to keep close at hand. When we just BE with God, the pieces fall into place. He knows the desires of our hearts. He knows the dissonance we experience in the world. To be with him means to be at rest, soaking up the goodness of his stillness state.

All it takes is an expectant readiness to reach God's being state.
